To be especial witnesses of Jesus Christ
so that we may be vital and active participants
in the building up of the Kingdom of God
for the redemption of Zion
We believe that God has called His Saints to follow the ensample of His Son, Jesus Christ and
that our ministry is to do as He did.  The scriptures read “for God so loved the world, that He
gave His only begotten Son..”  We believe that we are to take up our cross and follow Him.  As
Saints of the Most High God, we are called to love the people that He has created, especially
those who do not know Him.  Jesus began His ministry reading from the prophet Isaiah
foretelling the type ministry He would bring:
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me (us);
  because the Lord hath anointed me (us)
           to preach good tidings unto the meek;
  He hath sent me (us) to bind up the brokenhearted,
          to proclaim liberty to the captives,
                  and the opening of the prison to them that are bound?

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
          and the day of the vengeance of our God;
        to comfort all that mourn;
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion;
                             to give unto them beauty for ashes,
the oil of joy for mourning,
the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
                 that they might be called trees of righteousness,
  the planting of the Lord,
                          THAT HE MIGHT BE GLORIFIED.”
                                                                                                                              Isaiah 61:1-3
Believing this as our calling, we hold these values and qualities to be important in
accomplishing our mission:
Loving –  We want to be a branch that exemplifies the Great Commandment in all we do.

    “And he answering, said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all
    thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself..”
    Luke 10:28
Involved in church and community – We believe we should be an example in our churches
and communities of the joy that comes in knowing our Lord.

    “…for, behold, it is not meet that I should command in all things, .... Verily I say, Men
    should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will,
    and bring to pass much righteousness…”         D&C 58:6c-f

    “…yet it is incumbent upon the Saints … to so conduct themselves in the carrying into
    operation the details of their organizations as to be in the world but not of it, living and
    acting honestly and honorably before God and in the sight of all men, using the things of
    this world in the manner designed of God, that the places where they occupy may shine
    as Zion, the redeemed of the Lord.”         D&C 128:8a-c
Victorious –  We believe our worship should be a celebration of the joy of the victory we have
in Jesus.

    “The service of song in the house of the Lord with humility and unity of Spirit in them
    that sing and them that hear is blessed and acceptable with God... Let the young men
    and the maidens cultivate the gifts of music and of song...”    D&C 119:6a-d

    “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness; come
    before his presence with singing. … Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his
    courts with praise; be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”     Psalms 100

    “…Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. With
    trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King. Let the sea
    roar, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Let the floods clap
    their hands; let the hills be joyful together before the Lord...”      Psalms 98
Inviting  -  We believe that as saints grow in their relationship with Christ, they should be
encouraged to reach out to others in their witness of Jesus Christ.

    “Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they
    could not bear that any human soul should perish; Yea, even the very thoughts that any
    soul should endure endless torment, did cause them to quake and tremble.”
    Mosiah 12:5-6
Nurturing  -  We believe the body of Christ must be nurtured through consistent prayer,
scripture study, accountability, care, and training.

    “Nevertheless, they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their
    humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy
    and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of their hearts, which
    sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God.”     Helaman 2:31
Gladsome  –  We believe that we should be a people who demonstrate the joy of the Lord in
our lives..

    “ …and remember that Saints should be cheerful in their warfare that they may be
    joyous in their triumph.”    DC 119:6d

    “These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy
    might be full.”    John 15:11
Helping in service -  We believe that helping others shows the love of Christ in a real and
tangible way.

    “…when you are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your
    God.”        Mosiah 1:49

    “As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good
    stewards of the manifold grace of God.”         1 Peter 4:10
Order –  We believe in the consistency of the Lord’s work and that the Bible, the Book of
Mormon, and the Doctrine and Covenants are the standards by which we discern God’s
direction. By studying the Word of God, we find how we can know and glorify God.

    “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
    rightly dividing the word of truth.”    2 Timothy 2:15

    “Neither take ye thought beforehand what ye shall say, but treasure up in your minds
    continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that
    shall be meted unto every man.”      D&C 83:14d
Preparing – We believe this life is a time to prepare to meet God and part of this is learning to
live in humility and love.  It is also a day of preparation for the return of Jesus Christ to the earth.

    “Therefore this life became a probationary state; a time to prepare to meet God; a time
    to prepare for that endless state, which has been spoken of by us, which is after the
    resurrection of the dead.”    Alma 9:41

    “And humble yourselves even in the depths of humility, calling on the name of the Lord
    daily, and standing steadfastly in the faith of that which is to come, which was spoken
    by the mouth of the angel; And behold, I say unto you, that if ye do this, ye shall always
    rejoice, and be filled with the love of God, and always retain a remission of your sins;
    And ye shall grow in the knowledge of the glory of him that created you, or in the
    knowledge of that which is just and true..”      Mosiah 2:21-23

    “Repent, and prepare for the great day of the Lord…”     D&C 43:5f
Encouraging  - We believe the association of the Saints in which we are known, cared for,
held  accountable, and encouraged in our spiritual journey is essential. This association is in
recreation, friendship, and worship.

    “With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love;
    Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, In one body, and one
    Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling”         Ephesians 4:2-4
